American Green Corporation approaches land restoration by using cattle and goats to improve soil quality on the site of a reclaimed and restored land.
Cattle and goats are rotationally grazed on the reclaimed mine land. Native warm season grasses, annual forages and cool season grasses are strategically planted by minimal tillage or frost seeding to produce quality pastures throughout the year.
Grazing in large reclaimed pastures seeded with are fed in fenced in lots and feed, waste and native seed are incorporated into the soil through “hoof action”.
As a result, increased organic material and microbial activity further enhances re-vegetation efforts.
